Earbuds and headphones were invented by hand in the 1900’s and primarily used for telephone operators to keep their hands free. Now, this technology had advanced significantly and has become something used in a majority of peoples everyday life. After inventing and releasing 7 generations of smart phones, Apple came out with their newest product known as Airpods. These wireless Bluetooth earbuds became Apples most popular item within two years after being released. Now, Apple has released new generations of the product and is continuing to advance them.
On September 7, 2016, the first generation Airpods were invented. The product was then released that following December along with the iPhone 7. People were skeptical about the product at first since they really only looked like Apple earbuds with the wires cut off but by 2019, Apple averaged 60 million Airpods to be sold that year. The first generation Airpods were made so people had an easier way to listen, people were surprised how much better they actually were compared to wired earbuds. They are lighter, easier to manage, comfortable and you’ll never have tangled wires. All generations of Airpods have a wireless charging option which can be more efficient for some people. They are also easy to connect to your smart phone with Bluetooth. Today, there are three generations of Airpods that Apple has released.
Like I stated before the first generation Airpods were invented and released in 2016. From there, the product took off. The company then invented and released the second generation Airpods which are almost identical to the first generation, but the audio and voice quality are much better. Compared to the first generation, the Airpods 2 also have a longer lasting battery life, so they do not need to be charged as often. The most recent Airpods that were released are the third generation known as the Airpods Pros. This generation of Airpods have a few major differences compared to the first and second generation. They are sweat and water resistant, so they work well for working out or wet weather conditions. The Airpods Pros have a longer lasting battery life of up to five hours of listening. My favorite feature of the Airpods Pros is the active noise cancellation. This is a great feature if you need to lock in on something and really focus. You truly can not hear anything else with this feature turned on. All generations of Airpods work well for easy listening and have great features. They are all priced from $159.00-$249.00 depending on what generation you choose. Unfortunately, the first generation Airpods are discontinued so you can no longer buy them from Apple. They were discontinued so that newer generation would be more considered and known. The Airpods Pros are now the most popular generation of Airpods to be sold by Apple.
Overall, these products have been a very popular item Apple has released. They have great features for listening and are easy to use. Airpods have only been around for a couple years are one of Apples best selling items. Though the first generation Airpods are discontinued they allowed this product to take off. Apple is now continuing to improve the product and has put the fourth generation Airpods out to preorder.
